Pandemic Flu Information

An influenza (flu) pandemic will happen sometime in the future. However, it is difficult to predict when and where such an outbreak will occur. Currently public health scientists are concerned about the avian flu virus as a possible source of a pandemic because of the ongoing outbreaks of bird flu in Southeast Asia, and the increased likelihood that this virus will mutate and become highly transmissible between humans. It is important that you know the risks. THERE ARE THINGS YOU CAN DO NOW TO BE PREPARED. When a pandemic occurs it will likely mean millions of deaths and a year or two of devastating community and economic consequences. With proper planning you can take care of yourself and also take part in creating solutions for a hurting community around you.
