Project 1.27

Project 1.27 is a new way to adopt in Colorado.  For the first time in 70 years, the U.S. government, with its "Faith Based Initiative," has opened the doors for a partnership between the state and churches whose goal it is to find permanent homes for children in the foster care system.  Imagine an adoption program where the adoptive family does not have to walk this road alone!  The church becomes an active partner with the families providing the following:

  • All state required parent training on location
  • Organized support during the process and long after child placement
  • Parent and youth support groups and resources

There are three ways you can be involved:

Adoptive Families
Consider investigating whether there is a child (or two!) waiting for you to add to your family.

Support Families
We need 3-5 families per adoptive family to provide support such as respite care, prayer teams, babysitting, mentoring, etc.

Services for Families
Consider donating your professional services to adoptive families, such as PhD, DDS, maid, mechanic, computer, tutoring..
